Lapland Fishing Festival started with the EU-project Lapland Fishing Festival. It´s now a part of the project Fishing Cross The Border, together with the county Helgeland in Norway.

The aim of the festival is to unite fishermen among Europe, to generate friendship and to show the high lights of sportfishing in Swedish Lapland, as a way to increase the interest among European anglers.

The LFF will move between different places in Västerbotten and 2010 it will be in Kattisavan, Lycksele. LFF has (from 2009) moved its date to august, to make it possible to combine with the seatrout festival in Norway (appr 3 h drive from the inland of Västerbotten). The seatrout festival is also a part of this "cross the border" EU-project.

Even if its a competition involved, the atmosphere of LFF is very freindly and down to earth, and we intend to keep it that way.
