The summer in Lapland is between June and August and the temperature varies between 15 and 30 degrees Centigrade. The summer is usually very nice. Many Norwegians spend their vacation in Swedish Lapland, due to Swedish Lapland's comparable, warm and stable summer. Many fishing tourists have discovered that shorts are as necessary in the suitcaseas a warm shirt. If the wind comes from the north or if it´s heavy rain the temperature drops. The nights in the summer, especially in June and July are very bright, which has created the nickname for Swedish Lapland as “The Land of the Midnight Sun”. In fact, in June and July there is almost daylight even in the night.
